Shop and support Lahaina businesses at Kokua for Maui on August 30 at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa | News, Sports, Jobs

WAILUKU – The LahainaTown Action Committee (LAC), in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development, announced Monday the “Kokua for Maui Shop Local and Show Aloha” event, which will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa.

This special event brings residents and visitors together to support Lahaina’s resilient local businesses.

“Kokua for Maui is about more than just shopping – it’s about coming together as a community to show our support for local businesses that are the heart and soul of West Maui,” said Sne Patel, president of the LahainaTown Action Committee. “We encourage everyone to join us for a fun day in Ka’anapali while helping our beloved businesses succeed.”

Tambara Garrick, Treasurer of the LAC Board and one of the event organizers, said of the event: “This event is a testament to the resilience and strength of our community. By shopping local, you not only support small businesses, but you also help preserve the unique character and spirit of Lahaina.”

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and admission is free. Valet parking is $20 and self-parking is $1 per 3 hours at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. Attendees are encouraged to bring their family and friends to enjoy a day of aloha, connection and the joy of supporting local makers and entrepreneurs. Live music will be provided by Kaleo Phillips and Larry Golis throughout the event.
