One cannot help but notice that artificial intelligence is penetrating, entangling and interfering ever more deeply in our everyday lives. And I will only give a few examples, otherwise this page would be overwhelmed.

Let’s go into a restroom in a gym. Try the sink. It has a red light that turns the faucet on when there is movement. You have no control over how much water comes out or how warm it is. The stream is so weak that it can’t wash the shaving cream off the razor. It comes out cold and only gets warm after a lot of cold water (water that is “saved” for us) has been wasted waiting for it to get lukewarm. The end result is water waste on a grand scale.

Right next to it is a soap dispenser that is dripping soap because you approached it but didn’t ask for it. The soap will find a way to drip into your bag.

And the paper dispenser? Yes, a little red eye dispenses a sheet when someone passes nearby. Whether you need it or not, you have it.

All of these devices consume more resources than they save.

A mobile phone is very intelligent, very AI. Touch the phone anywhere and a question pops up. Hey, I didn’t ask for anything.

Autocorrect steps in and replaces words and abbreviations with what it thinks is correct. 99% of the time it’s wrong, 1% of the time it’s wrong. You need to stay on top of things if you don’t want to look stupid.

If you happen to come across an animal that you would like to photograph, by the time you find the camera icon in the app, the animal has already disappeared and is already in another country.
