Firefighters rescue several people when fire breaks out at Frederick Restaurant

FREDERICK COUNTY, Maryland. — Firefighters in Frederick County rescued several people Tuesday morning after a fire broke out at a restaurant, local authorities said.

The fire broke out just before 9:30 a.m. at the River Bar and Grill in the 100 block of North Market Street. Crews from Frederick County Fire and Emergency Services quickly arrived at the scene and were able to rescue several people from the burning building.

While firefighters battled the blaze, Market Street was closed between Church Street and 3rd Street. The fire also affected two neighboring buildings, leaving the residents of ten apartments homeless.

One person was assessed at the scene by paramedics, but no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
