By hiring 2 firefighters, Station 1 and the ambulance are fully staffed

The Ripon Consolidated Fire District recently assigned two new firefighter/paramedics.

As the RCFD announced on social media on Tuesday, Jason Hill and Andrew McDonald will ensure that Station 1 is fully staffed while also ensuring that emergency services are fully staffed at all times.

“Both Hill and McDonald are currently participating in our comprehensive orientation program.

“This program covers all aspects of county and district operations, including policies, procedures, equipment and performance standards. After completing orientation, they are assigned to a shift and begin responding to emergency calls,” RCFD added.

Hill is a product of the San Joaquin County American Medical Response, where he worked as a paramedic for the past year.

His fire service career includes serving in the Wilton Fire Protection District after completing the Firefighter 1 Academy Intern Program where he received his Firefighter 1 certification.

In his free time, Hill enjoys working on leather and other creative projects in his home workshop.

McDonald comes to the Ripon Consolidated Fire District via the Stanislaus County AMR, where he worked as a paramedic.

He has experience as a firefighter and was a volunteer captain in the Burbank Paradise Fire Protection District.

McDonald completed his training at the Fire Academy at Modesto Junior College.

He enjoys playing golf and is looking forward to successfully completing his probationary period at the RCFD.

The Ripon Consolidated Fire District is excited about the two new additions and their contribution to the district’s mission to “Protect What Matters…”
