Shortly after the record-breaking opening, rumors began to circulate A quiet place: day one would be available digitally within a month.

It sparked a debate about whether releasing films too quickly on digital platforms hurts their chances at the box office, in which case it’s simply the “new normal” for Paramount releases.

After the release, screenwriter and director Michael Sarnoski suggested a spin-off film for the star cat Frodo and also explained why the cat is silent in the film.

“I liked the idea of him being a service cat and her saying right from the start, ‘Hey, be quiet.’ She’s almost trained the cat not to annoy everyone at the hospice,” he noted.
