Man arrested for alleged attack on couple in Walmart parking lot

A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for allegedly attacking a couple with a gun in a Walmart parking lot in West Milwaukee, according to West Milwaukee police.

On Sunday at 3:57 p.m., West Milwaukee police responded to a call at Walmart, 4140 W. Greenfield Ave., for a report of a man struck in the head with a firearm.

When police arrived, they found two injured people, a 29-year-old woman from Milwaukee and her 34-year-old husband. Both told police they had been hit in the head with a gun butt. The woman was bleeding profusely, police said.

While speaking to police, the woman pointed to the perpetrator’s vehicle, which was just about to leave the parking lot.

An officer followed the suspect to the corner of 46th Street and Greenfield, where the suspect was seen outside of his vehicle near a water truck.

Police then held the man at gunpoint. The man resisted but was eventually arrested, police said.

Another officer later found the gun used in the attack hidden in the water truck, police said.

The police did not provide any further information about the incident.

The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case for charges.
