Austin brunch restaurant Paperboy opens in South Lamar

Austin brunch restaurant Paperboy opens in South Lamar

Austin brunch restaurant Paperboy is expanding with a second location next year. The new Paperboy will be located in the Zilker neighborhood in the Bouldin mixed-use development at 1401 South Lamar Boulevard starting in early 2025.

The new Paperboy will resemble its older sibling. There will be a daily menu with dishes like pancakes, eggs, bowls, migas, toasties and more. Then there will be drinks like coffee, espresso, tea, sparkling wine, cocktails and juices. There will also be a takeaway window. The space will be designed by Paperboy designers Chioco Design and Kempt Studio.

Paperboy’s parent company, Daybreak Hospitality — under founder Ryan Harms — is keeping busy. He’s also in the midst of opening a new pizzeria in Central East Austin, Loudmouth, taking over the sprawling, enclosed space formerly home to the Rosewood restaurant. The casual eatery is set to open in the fall with wood-fired pizza, chicken wings, sandwiches and drinks.

Harms opened Paperboy as a food truck in 2015 and turned it into a full-fledged restaurant in 2020. Daybreak also operates Full Goods Diner in San Antonio.

Bouldin will also feature a branch of national wine bar chain Postino (slated to open in the fall) and a chic gym from fitness chain Life Time, according to Austin Business Journal.
