HEB will open a store in Irving, continuing its active expansion efforts in the Dallas area.
The grocer announced Wednesday the acquisition of a property in Irving and plans to open its first HEB store in the Las Colinas area. Scheduled to open in late 2026, the store will be located at Interstate 635 and Olympus Boulevard across from the former Fry’s electronics store.
The San Antonio-based company said construction is scheduled to begin later this year.
It’s been about two years since HEB began its expansion in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with a store in Frisco. HEB has already opened other locations in the area, including in Plano, McKinney and Allen, as well as a second store in Frisco.
The store is expected to create around 700 jobs.
The move comes as HEB plans to bring its off-price grocery store chain to Irving with a new Joe V’s Smart Shop by the end of 2025. The 57,920-square-foot Joe V’s Smart Shop project is expected to cost over $10 million, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
