Mexican restaurant Oasis is leaving Crest Hill for Lockport: Here’s why

Mexican restaurant Oasis is leaving Crest Hill for Lockport: Here’s why

CREST HILL – After two years of operating their Mexican restaurant Oasis in one of the worst locations anywhere, brothers Adrian and Christian Avila have left Crest Hill and moved their entire restaurant operation to the nearby community of Lockport.

The Avila brothers turned to Joliet Patch to break the news that their Crest Hill restaurant is closing. Everything is now at their second location, which they opened a few months ago at 1250 East 9th Street in Lockport.

Oasis was hidden behind the Speedway gas station near the Caton Farm Road hexagonal intersection along Plainfield Road. You literally couldn’t see the restaurant. You had to turn into the small strip mall to know Oasis was there.

Now it houses a new restaurant called Shree Indian Cuisine.

In recent days, Adrian Avila responded to Joliet Patch’s list of questions with the following comment:

“Due to popularity and limited location, Oasis Mexican Restaurant in Crest Hill has officially closed its doors,” Avila explained. “The two brothers who own the restaurant have decided to focus their efforts on their Lockport location, which has proven to be larger and more popular with customers.”:

The Avilas said the Lockport location gives them more space and a bar twice as big as their Crest Hill location. They also unveiled a new menu with a new chef. New dishes include poblano pasta, Mexican ribeye steak and oysters.

“There’s something for everyone. They even offer a tomahawk steak and breakfast options for those looking for a unique dining experience,” Adrian said. “And of course, customers can still enjoy the famous specialties of quesabirria tacos, bizza and birria ramen.”

What makes the Lockport restaurant location so special?

“One of the standout features of the Lockport location is the DJ who plays tropical Tulum music every Friday and Saturday night. Customers can also take advantage of the $5 margarita nights on Tuesday and Thursday, making it a popular spot for those looking to relax and unwind,” said Adrian Avila. “In addition to the bar, we also offer craft cocktails such as espresso martinis, sangrias, palomas and many more that add a touch of sophistication to the dining experience.”

Avila said customers in Lockport can enjoy their brunch cuisine on the weekends.

He and his brother said they “are excited about the future and plan to continue to grow their restaurant empire. Even though the Crest Hill location is no longer in operation, customers can still enjoy all of their favorite dishes and drinks just a short drive away in Lockport. Customers can also enjoy the late night dining experience at the Lockport location as it is open late on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. This gives customers the opportunity to enjoy delicious food and drinks late into the night, making it a perfect location for anyone looking for a fun and lively dining experience.”
