Night of Italian cuisine at Adelina: Join chefs Gabriel Botezan, Marco Dalla Fontana and Fabio Viviani for a four-course meal paired with Italian wines. CityFest 2024 at the Whitney: This Midtown destination’s annual CityFest returns with a new schedule of special events and dinners Sept. 6-15. The week kicks off with a “Back East Feast” lobster dinner Sept. 6, followed by a seasonal tea event in the garden Sept. 7. Other highlights include a Bees in the D dinner and honey-inspired three-course meal Sept. 10, and a Bloody Mary tailgate party with a mimosa bar and brunch buffet Sept. 15 when the Detroit Lions play the Buccaneers at Ford Field. Street Beet returns to Third Street Bar: Weeks after Cass Corridor hangout Third Street Bar reopened under new management, popular vegan pop-up spot Street Beet has returned and taken over the kitchen. Chefs Nina Paletta and Meghan Shaw will serve vegan versions of popular fast-food dishes, as well as brunch fare on Sundays. Described as “semi-permanent,” this residency will begin with service from noon to midnight on Sept. 7 during the nearby Dally in the Alley festival and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sept. 8 for brunch. 4626 Third, Detroit. From the forest to the table at the Johnson Nature Center: Chefs Chris Gadulka of Sylvan Table and Johnny Prepolec of Alchemi will team up to prepare a multi-course dinner featuring fresh farm ingredients hosted by the Friends of the Johnson Nature Center. The seven courses will be served along a quarter-mile trail in the nature center and will feature flowers, berries, mushrooms and other things found in the forest, as well as locally sourced proteins. Beers, brats and bands at Heritage Park Amphitheatre: This annual event is held at a new location, Heritage Park Amphitheater, where guests 21 and older can enjoy craft beer, cider and bottled water, grilled bratwurst (vegetarian option available) and more. There’s also a pretzel chain-making station, a chili cook-off contest and cover band Atomic Radio.
