I’m so glad we live in the part of America that also has so many vibrant Amish communities. And when I say vibrant, of course, I don’t mean the color of clothing, but the natural way of life they share, including their grocery stores, which are unlike anything you’ve probably ever seen, as a new video from Illinois proves.
Alley Picked on YouTube just visited an Amish grocery store in Arthur, Illinois – Beachy’s Bulk Foods. This might inspire you to take a road trip if you’ve never been there yourself. Arthur, Illinois, incidentally, is home to the largest Amish community in the state.

I checked out the reviews for this store in Arthur, Illinois on Trip Advisor and it seems like it has a lot of fans. 77 five-star reviews at the time of writing, including the following comments:
- “Great place for a weekend getaway”
- “What an incredible place!”
- “Don’t miss this fabulous stopover”
- “You have everything!”
What’s interesting is the fact that this store upholds core pillars of their beliefs, including their disdain for electricity and the fake wood flooring concrete outside.
