Bullard man arrested after several minors found in his home, including a runaway

BULLARD, Texas (KLTV) – Bullard Police and the Smith County Sheriff’s Office finally made an arrest after a joint search for a runaway teenager.

According to Bullard Police Chief Jeff Bragg, Bullard officers joined the Smith County Sheriff’s Office on July 25 to locate a reported runaway. When they arrived at the home of 47-year-old Randy Lloyd Smith, they found the juvenile as well as several other minors who did not live there. Officers contacted the parents of all the children present there, Bragg said. The parents arrived to take the minors into custody.

Further investigation of the crime scene revealed that Smith was alleged to have committed several crimes, including enticement of a child, harboring a runaway, grooming children, influencing a witness and purchasing alcohol for minors, Bragg said.

On August 28, Judge Austin Reeve Jackson of the 114th District Court signed an arrest warrant for Smith. Members of the Bullard Police Department returned to Smith’s home and arrested him.

He was booked into the Smith County Jail on six counts of selling alcohol to a minor, one count of luring a child away from a guardian, two counts of child molestation, one count of harboring a runaway and one count of witness tampering. He faces a total fine of $1,475,000, according to Police Chief Bragg.

According to Smith County court records, Smith was also known as Randy L. Pauler and Randy Lloyd.
