NYPD: Woman allegedly tricked employees and stole thousands from Rossville store

STATEN ISLAND, NY — The NYPD is searching for a person to be questioned in connection with an alleged grand theft in Rossville earlier this month. He tricked an employee into transferring cash from the store to an unknown account.

Police received a report that on Tuesday, August 6, at approximately 5:15 p.m., at a Walgreens store located at 655 Rossville Avenue, a 35-year-old employee was allegedly deceived by a woman who entered the store and demanded to send money via Western Union.

While escorting the employee through the transaction, she managed to get her to transfer $4,900 from the store to an unknown account before fleeing the store in a white BMW sedan, a spokesman for the NYPD’s deputy information officer said.

The person is described as a woman with dark skin, around 30 to 35 years old, of strong build, with long black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a dark-colored T-shirt.
