OVERLAND PARK, Kansas (KCTV) — On Friday, it was time for the annual tradition at an Overland Park family’s home: the Baldwin family’s annual lemonade stand and cookie giveaway for charity.

For six years, Ed Baldwin, his wife and six children set up the stand, mixed lemonade and baked cookies.

Fifty cents of lemonade sales will go to the Supporting Kids Foundation and you will receive a free chocolate chip cookie.

Ed said they have always donated to the Supporting Kids Foundation over the years to help families affected by childhood cancer.

“This is something we care about and have always donated to this organization, so it was an easy decision for the charity to make it a big deal,” said Ed Baldwin.

His daughter Cece agreed.

“I really enjoy it because we want them to have a life – like me and my family, me and my friends. We can have this great life and not have to struggle with it. So it’s just nice to be able to support these kids,” said Cece Baldwin.

By 12:30 p.m. Friday, they had already raised over $1,400 through their booth and online donations.

In the first year they raised about $300 and last year they donated over $2,300.

They hope to match or exceed last year’s amount.
