Vietnamese restaurant in Elmhurst returns | Patch from Elmhurst, IL

ELMHURST, IL – Pho Lime, a Vietnamese restaurant in Elmhurst, was closed for a while this year. But now it’s back.

It’s unclear how long Pho Lime, 561 N. York St., was closed. In mid-June, it was listed online as “temporarily closed.”

According to comments on social media, Pho Lime appears to have reopened sometime the following month.

In its most recent business update, Elmhurst listed Pho Lime as one of its “new and expanding businesses” since April.

At a city council meeting in June, Councilman Michael Bram said the city needs full-service restaurants on the north side.

Heather Bereckis, the city’s economic development manager, said Pho Lime meets the requirements for a full-service restaurant.

“It’s a full-service restaurant if you like noodle soup. I like it,” she said. “Hopefully I’ll see you there.”

When Patch looked up the restaurant online after the meeting, he found that it was temporarily closed. The restaurant did not respond to a message seeking comment at the time.

Since reopening, Pho Lime has received positive comments online.

“The family meal at Pho Lime tonight was excellent!” wrote one resident on the TakeOut 25-Elmhurst Facebook page. “The teens had large sandwiches so there are leftovers for tomorrow. My husband had a Pho bowl and the broth was rich and delicious.”
