Sesame Place celebrates Labor Day weekend

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Sesame Place Philadelphia celebrates Labor Day weekend with a fireworks display Sunday night.

The amusement park at 100 Sesame Road in Langhorne is celebrating the unofficial end of summer with a back-to-school party, Labor Day fireworks and a free admission offer for first responders.

Sesame Place is committed to making summer unforgettable before it’s over. The park invites guests to prepare for back-to-school season with exciting events and exclusive offers.

Before heading back to the classroom for an exciting school year, guests can experience the back to school festivities on Friday. Guests can sing, dance and share all the school rules with Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster and Count Von Count at the Back to School Bash. Dine with Elmo & Friends and dance along with their favorite furry friends at the all-new Back to School Bash Dance Party.

Sesame Place Philadelphia has partnered with the United Way of Bucks County for its third annual Back to School Bash school supply drive.

Through Friday, the park will be collecting new backpacks and new packs of pens, pencils, highlighters, crayons and markers at the Welcome Center. Guests who donate from the list of requested items will receive a shopping voucher to purchase merchandise or food and beverages at the park. The United Way of Bucks County will distribute donations to local families and schools in need through its HELP Center.

As a thank you to local educators, Sesame Place Philadelphia is offering a free 2025 Teacher Pass to all who qualify, valid for unlimited visits throughout the 2025 season and for the remainder of the season. To learn more and sign up, teachers must visit SesamePlace.com/Philadelphia.

Labor Day weekend celebrations take place on Saturday and Sunday.

Elmo will be available for meet and greets in his patriotic attire, and the spectacular Labor Day “C is for Celebrate” fireworks display will delight guests and light up the night sky with brilliant explosions of color exclusively on Sunday, September 1st at 8 p.m.

For a sweet selection of desserts and an exclusive meet and greet with a furry friend, guests can take advantage of the Labor Day Sweet Treats package or upgrade to the ultimate celebration package, the Labor Day Sweet Treats & Fireworks package. This package includes an escort to a reserved fireworks area.

First Responders Weekend, September 7-8

Sesame Place will celebrate its local heroes and thank those who keep local communities safe during First Responders Weekend. Everyone’s favorite furry friends will be dressed in fire and police uniforms for meet and greets, and guests can meet local firefighters and explore emergency vehicles up close! The park will honor these local heroes with a First Responders Pre-Parade through the Sesame Street Neighborhood, held each day at 2:45 p.m. before the Sesame Street Party Parade.

Additionally, Sesame Place offers qualified first responders a free one-day admission ticket and a discount on additional tickets for friends and family.
