Krispy Kreme honors Barbie’s 65th birthday with 4 brand new donuts

Krispy Kreme honors Barbie’s 65th birthday with 4 brand new donuts

As the saying goes, the devil works hard, but Krispy Kreme works even harder (or at least we think it’s something like that).

On Tuesday, the doughnut shop announced it was entering into another awesome partnership, which means we’re all getting even more limited-time treats.

This time, Krispy Kreme is teaming up with Barbie to make an “iconic taste statement” to celebrate the toy brand’s 65th anniversary. This statement includes four brand-new doughnuts with unique flavors and designs for a full sensory experience.

“We’re excited to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Barbie brand with a collaboration that’s full of fun and flavor,” said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s global chief brand officer, in the announcement. “We’re bringing Barbie’s iconic fashion to life through delicious doughnuts that will delight Barbie and Krispy Kreme fans alike.”

Starting today, doughnut and toy fans can snag the new flavors at participating Krispy Kreme stores. Here’s what to expect from each flavor.

The pink Barbie donut

According to Krispy Kreme, this one is “inspired by Barbie’s iconic pink and popism.” It’s made with an Original Glazed base and covered in pink buttercream before being garnished with glittery pink sugar and edible Barbie sunglasses.

Malibu Dream Party Donut

This one, says Krispy Kreme, is “inspired by the fun and fashion of the Barbie DreamHouse” and again features the unglazed doughnut, but this time it’s filled with Cake Batter Kreme, dipped in Malibu blue glaze and glittery Graham Sand, and topped with a piece of the Barbie DreamHouse.

Barbie Berry Cream Donut

According to the manufacturer, the Barbie Berries Doughnut is “as sweet as Barbie herself.” It also consists of an unglazed doughnut filled with strawberry cream, dipped in white glaze, drizzled with purple and pink buttercream, and topped with a Barbie heart.

Barbie Sweet Donut for the 65th

This Original Glazed Doughnut is relatively simple. It’s dipped in chocolate glaze and topped with Barbie Sweet 65th sprinkles, which is subtle for a doll that has been anything but simple for more than six decades.

“Barbie and Krispy Kreme are two brands that spark instant joy and evoke fond memories,” added Meredith Norrie, vice president of global licensing and consumer products at Mattel. “As we celebrate Barbie’s 65th anniversary this year, Krispy Kreme is the perfect partner for us, inviting fans of all generations to enjoy the perfect blend of taste and style, with a nod to Barbie in every bite.”

Fans can buy the donuts individually or in a Krispy Kreme six-pack. But hurry. Barbie will soon be 66 and there probably won’t be any more special donuts.
