Eagles running back Treshaun Ward caught three passes for 61 yards and a touchdown and gained another 77 yards on the ground. Quarterback Thomas Castellanos had 106 passing yards, two touchdown passes and another rushing touchdown. He also gained 73 yards on the ground.

“I’m very proud of these guys,” said Boston College head coach Bill O’Brien. “They were resilient tonight. To come here and play against a team that they felt had to win is a strong statement for BC. But it’s just one win.”

Castellanos’ touchdown pass to Kye Robichaux gave Boston College a 21-6 lead in the third quarter. Florida State pulled within a touchdown and a 2-point conversion when DJ Uiagalelei threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Kentron Poitier with 5:19 left.

However, Robichaux scored a 2-yard touchdown, putting the final nail in the Seminoles’ coffin.

Uiagalelei completed 21 of 42 passes for 272 yards and one touchdown pass. The Seminoles managed just 21 rushing yards in the entire game.

Florida State was one of the candidates to make the expanded College Football Playoffs this season, but after two losses to start the season, their hopes have been severely dampened.
