The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline at self-dispensing stations in Los Angeles County fell one-tenth of a cent to $4.566 on Saturday.
The average price is 4.1 cents lower than a week ago, 20.8 cents lower than a month ago and 60.6 cents lower than a year ago, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It has fallen by $1.928 since rising to a record high of $6.494 on October 5, 2022.
The average price in Orange County was unchanged at $4.48 after declining for 11 straight days. That’s 5.2 cents less than a week ago, 21.3 cents less than a month ago and 63.7 cents less than a year ago. It has fallen $1.979 since rising to a record high of $6.459 on October 5, 2022.
The national average price fell four-tenths of a cent for the 14th consecutive day to $3.45. That’s 2.8 cents less than a week ago, 8.8 cents less than a month ago, and 37.8 cents less than a year ago. The national average price has fallen $1.566 since rising to a record high of $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
“As Tropical Storm Debby moves along the I-95 corridor and reaches the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, the threat to Gulf Coast oil production and refining has passed,” said Andrew Gross, national public relations manager for AAA. “But tensions in the Middle East and some economic uncertainty abroad could mitigate a decline in oil prices.”
