Kay Adams laughed off rumors that she was dating New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones after he caused her to stutter during an interview last month.
The sports reporter brought up the rumors while talking to Jones’ teammate and offensive guard Jermaine Eluemunor on Tuesday’s episode of “Up & Adams” about their upcoming game against the Minnesota Vikings.
“You have to protect your boy, my boy, who the world and the internet thinks is my boy,” Adams said, trying not to laugh.
The 38-year-old television personality couldn’t contain her train of thought and burst out laughing.
“I saw it, I know what you’re talking about,” Eluemunor, 29, chimed in, referring to the several TikTok videos about Adams’ alleged romance with Jones.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” she added. “A girl can’t win. I’m trying to cheer up your boy.”
Eluemunor interrupted him, saying, “Daniel is a handsome guy.”
The former “Good Morning Football” host replied, “Is he keeping that beard?”, referring to Jones’ facial hair, which he grew during training camp this summer.
Later in the interview, Eluemunor discussed how he plans to protect Jones on the field during Sunday’s game against the Vikings.
“I believe in you. Go protect my friend,” she joked.
Last month, Jones, 27, and Adams sparked romance rumors during an interview at Giants training camp.
Fans pointed out that Adams stuttered while chatting with the NFL star about the upcoming football season and his personal interests.
She made fun of his beard and explained that it was her “job” to use “all the influence” at her disposal to get him to keep his beard.
Adams also couldn’t keep her words straight when Jones said he was a fan of country singer Zach Bryan.
“I’m a little worried,” she said, nervously fiddling with her notecards.
“I’m trying to find some drama for the Giants fans here.”
According to the US Sun, Jones is in a relationship with Ella Bonafede.
Bonafede was a lacrosse player at Duke, where Jones also studied.
Adams, meanwhile, is not publicly connected to anyone.
