Anna Delvey says she’s ready for some fun and a workout after joining the cast of the upcoming season of Dancing with the stars.
Delvey (real name Anna Sorokin) is considered a convicted fraudster, about whose machinations Jessica Pressler wrote in her book “The New York Magazine Article. The fake German heiress is said to have tricked several Manhattan residents into giving her hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, goods and services. The story was then dramatized for Netflix. The invention of Annain which Julia Garner played the lead role as Delvey and Shonda Rhimes served as showrunner.
When asked what prompted her to take part in ABC’s reality dance competition, Delvey admitted that she was persuaded to do so and then received permission from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Delvey was released from prison in 2021 after serving four years, but has been under house arrest since then while she fights her deportation.
“I was somehow persuaded to do it. I got permission from ICE and then it was somehow too late to back out,” she said The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday after the cast was announced on Good morning, America.
Delvey will wear an ankle bracelet during the competition. Her spokeswoman Juda Engelmayer confirmed to the Related Press that Delvey “could move within a 70-mile radius of her home base and anywhere within the five boroughs of New York City under the terms of her current house arrest.”
When asked what impact the monitor might have on her performance, Delvey replied that there would be no effect.

Looking ahead, Delvey said she just wanted to “have a little fun and maybe get a little exercise” by participating in the show.
Delvey will work with newcomer professional Ezra Sosa. Sosa attested to Delvey’s “dancing talent” and said THR He is “excited that America is finally seeing Delvey” and “how she is doing.”
“The media has seen a portrayal of her that, in my personal opinion, is not her,” he said, adding that he looks forward to everyone getting to know “the real Anna Delvey.”
In addition to Delvey, other cast members announced include Dwight Howard, Tori Spelling, Eric Roberts, Super Bowl champion Danny Amendola, actor Chandler Kinney, Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher, model Brooks Nader, Bravo star Phaedra Parks, actor Reginald VelJohnson and Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik.
