Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams sets the record straight

Rumors about the future of Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams have circulated almost all offseason.

The rumors came from all over the place and were fueled after the Netflix documentary “Receiver” featured footage of Adams voicing his disapproval of the team’s direction. Adams’ future with the Raiders remained a constant storyline that dogged the team until the start of training camp, which Adams missed most of due to the birth of his son.

Although rumors of Adams’ discontent had died down in recent weeks, they were brought back to the forefront recently when former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Desean Jackson publicly claimed that Adams was unhappy. With the start of the season just days away, Adams took the time to publicly address Jackson’s comments.

“At the end of the day, facts are facts, and this is not a fact,” Adams said Wednesday. “I’ve probably spoken to DeSean Jackson three or four times in my life, and I’ve never had a conversation with him (about this issue), ever. And I blame that on my kids. I’ve never spoken to him about anything.”

Adams went a step further and again made it clear that he is happy with the Raiders and that anything that contradicts that is false. He believes that many of the things that have been said about him this offseason have come from media outlets looking for quick clicks on the internet.

Adams said that if he was truly unhappy with the Raiders, he would have left already and the stories about his dissatisfaction were not true.

“To say that I’m upset or uncomfortable in this organization is just bullshit designed to scare everyone off and use it as clickbait,” Adams said. “Everyone wants to see what Davante Adams has to say, and he’s (upset) in Vegas. If I was (upset), I wouldn’t be here right now.”
