That’s it from us for another week, dear reader, and we’re signing off from this week’s Democratic National Convention with a great performance that you may have seen on the news once or twice. Let’s face it, the blues there have always had the best music, and this week Jason Isbell took the stage to perform the title song from his fifth album. “Something more than free.” Asked by the New York Times When recently asked if he was worried that his policies might alienate some of his fans, he replied: “No, I’m not worried about that… For me, the ultimate goal is to share my inner life and test the connection that I have with everyone else, with strangers. And to do that, you have to tell the truth and be honest about your feelings. And if it turns some people off – I’m telling you, this may not sound like the truth here, but it is – if it turns people off, I want them to leave… I don’t want to have people out there making the rest of my audience uncomfortable. And if you’re not open to hearing what I have to say, then you’re probably not going to be open to having someone different than you standing next to you, and that’s not the kind of space I want to be in. I don’t care how big it is or how many tickets I sold.”

It’s hope that kills you, as they say. As always, we ask that you support your local Palestine Action if you can. Take care and we’ll see you on Tuesday.
