Three years after she helped remix BTS’ hit song “Butter,” Megan Thee Stallion has reunited with band leader RM. Stream their latest collaboration, “Neva Play,” now.
“Money rules, it’s my mother tongue/ RM and I are on a roll,” she raps before RM joins in. “Megan and I are on the road/ For Asia, man, we paved the way,” he says confidently. In the anime-inspired video, the two are brought to life in animated form.
Rumors of a swap deal have been circulating since the Hot Girl Coach first contributed a verse to BTS’ Grammy-nominated song, which she also performed live with the band during their first post-Covid shows in the U.S. After ARMY teased a new song with a purple heart emoji last week, the couple knew their time had finally come.
“This is one of my favorite RM verses I’ve ever heard!” she shared on Twitter. “I’ve never heard him rap in this style before.”
RM recorded his verse before heading out for his mandatory military service in the South Korean military, which is currently scheduled to end in June 2025. “Neva Play” joins the rapper’s other pre-recorded songs, including a full second solo album, Right place, wrong person; this week the premiere of a documentary about the making of the LP was announced at the Busan Film Festival in Korea.
Megan Thee Stallion is currently preparing to host and perform at the VMAs, which are scheduled for September 11. Earlier this week, she released a Pepsi commercial to kick off football season, which also serves as a promotion for the upcoming film. Gladiator II.
