Former Vice President Dick Cheney will endorse Kamala Harris as his presidential candidate in November, his daughter Liz Cheney said Friday.
Dick Cheney published a statement and thus confirmed his support for Harris.
“In our country’s 248-year history, there has never been anyone who posed a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump,” Dick Cheney said in a statement. “He attempted to rig the last election with lies and violence to cling to power after voters rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again.”

“As citizens, we all have a duty to put country above party politics to defend our Constitution. That’s why I will cast my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.”
Liz Cheney, who endorsed Harris on Wednesday, revealed her father’s support for Harris when asked about it during an interview onstage at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin, the Associated Press reported.
Like his daughter, Dick Cheney was critical of former President Donald Trump, especially during Liz Cheney’s run for re-election in 2022.
In a campaign ad for Liz Cheney, Dick called Trump a “coward” for trying to “steal the last election,” the Associated Press reported.
Dick Cheney has been friends with the Democrats over the years, but has never supported one of them for president.
Recently, several Republicans have endorsed Harris as a presidential candidate, while others, including Senator Mitt Romney and former Vice President Mike Pence, have said they would not vote for Trump.
