Week 3 of the Cincinnati high school football season is here, and with it comes some high-profile matchups. From the Eastern Cincinnati Conference showdown between undefeated teams Milford and Winton Woods to Lakota West visiting Princeton in the game that could once again decide the Greater Miami Conference.

Teams like Withrow, Badin and Waynesville, who made it deep into the playoffs last season, are still looking for their first win of the 2024 season.

As games begin and teams take the field, you’ll find all the latest Cincinnati high school football scores, breaking news, videos and more here.

Winton Woods’ defense has scored more points than it has allowed this year, and that was true against Milford. The Warriors had an interception and held the Eagles scoreless, giving Winton Woods a 15-0 lead at halftime.

Last season, Princeton’s victory over Lakota West proved decisive as the Vikings clinched the GMC championship. In the 2024 rematch, the Vikings and Firebirds are scoreless after one quarter in Princeton.

Cincinnati High School Football: Harrison’s Cole Koops’ touchdown

Cole Koops’ 78-yard touchdown run gives Harrison a 6-0 lead over Indian Hill with 4:05 minutes left in the first quarter

Clinton-Massie’s chance to improve to 2-1 this year will have to wait a little longer. The Falcons are headed to Dresden to face the Tri-Valley Scotties. Lightning and hail in the area delayed warmups, and the school reported a start time of 8:30 p.m. at the earliest.

Undefeated Harrison hosts undefeated Indian Hill in a packed showdown between the teams. Harrison is once again playing at home after winning last week in front of its home crowd against two-time defending Indiana champion East Central.

All contests will be sorted by home team conference unless an area school is playing a team outside of Greater Cincinnati. Check back often or refresh the page for updates.

A big run by Justin Blackley and Elijah Engleman’s connection to Nehemiah Engleman sent Hughes into overtime against Roger Bacon, where Elijah Engleman scored the game-winning touchdown to beat the Spartans at home. Hughes struck first when Elijah completed a 61-yard pass to Nehemiah for an 8-0 lead. Blackley had a 38-yard run early in the second quarter to take a 14-0 lead. Roger Bacon scored just before halftime on a 91-yard run from Will Mason, and Jerome Smith tied the score in the third quarter. Elijah Engleman won the game for Hughes in overtime with a 14-yard run.

Elijah Engleman completed 14 of 23 passes for 169 yards and a touchdown and ran for 58 yards and a score. Blackley had 56 yards and his score. Hughes limited Roger Bacon’s quarterback Bubba Smart to 9 of 21 passes for 98 yards and an interception. Smith and Mason both ran for over 100 yards.

Another week of games unfortunately brings with it another week of storms and delays.

Showers and thunderstorms are moving into the Greater Cincinnati area, potentially cooling temperatures but also bringing strong winds and possible game-delaying thunderstorms and lightning.

A postponed start time has already been announced for the game between Lakota West and Princeton; kickoff is now scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

For many, these games under floodlights on Friday nights mark the end of their sporting careers. However, some postpone their careers until Saturday.

Over 100 local athletes currently appear on the rosters of Division I FBS college football teams, and many are starters and key players. From Alex Afari, a graduate of Lakota West at the University of Kentucky, to Ken Willis of Colerain at the University of Cincinnati, here are some of the top local standouts who have made it to the Division I college ranks.

The USA Today Network’s Ohio High School Football Super 25 poll is conducted by a panel of sportswriters and editors from across Ohio. The poll ranks the top 25 teams in Ohio, regardless of division.

Lakewood St. Edward reclaimed the top spot from Massillon Washington, and Moeller leads the local ranks with a third-place vote. Lakota West also secured the first-place vote.
