Fans of professional sports teams usually find countless ways to hate their rivals.

Whether it is the closeness of the two teams, their lack of success or even the players on the opposing team, everything can be used as an excuse to further incite the fan base.

Some have adopted the colors of the opposing teams out of hatred.

This brings us to Friday night’s NFL game between the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles, played at the NeoQuimica Arena in São Paulo, Brazil.

Brazilian football club Corinthians, the usual tenant of the NeoQuimica Arena, hates the colour green due to a long-standing rivalry with Palmeiras.

The NFL was probably aware of this and scheduled the two teams’ games there anyway.

Players caught doing so can be fined, as can sponsors, who are also encouraged to avoid the color at all costs.

Philadelphia is the designated home team and will wear black helmets, white jerseys and black pants – the same color palette as the Corinthians. It will be the first time in the team’s history that they will wear this combination of uniforms.

The Packers will wear their white, yellow and green jerseys and essentially had no choice in what they wore.

According to the Associated Press, a memo stated that green could only be worn by the visiting team, in this case Green Bay.
