Chile! Rolls B isn’t the only place where Atlanta’s food scene can be found! Now his opinion on which city has the better restaurants is sparking a foodie debate on social media.

Bun B reveals which city in Atlanta has the best food scene

Bun B made it clear that Houston has to outdo Atlanta, especially in the food scene category. He spoke on an episode of the Honey Drip Network & Aristotle podcast released on August 6. The rapper explained why he thinks ATL can’t compete when it comes to good food.

“You all just miss the food,” Bun B said of Atlanta. “You all just miss the food. You have great restaurants with ambiance and experience and all that, but you don’t have mom cooking. That’s not how I feel in Atlanta.”

He quickly suggested that he could be “totally wrong,” but the interviewer — an Atlanta native — also agreed with Bun B’s sentiments. The Texas rapper also said that the Georgia city doesn’t know how to tell a restaurant from a club.

“I think the restaurant scene in Atlanta is too focused on experiences right now,” Said Bun B. “They want people to come in, and they want it to look and sound like it’s going down. They want people to dance and stuff, but that’s what you want. You might get some chicken wings and some macaroni and cheese, but you don’t really want the full dining experience.”

The host responded that Houston does the same thing. But the UGK icon claimed that Houston could “back it up” with the taste of his food.

“But that’s just it, our food can attest to that, because look at where we are. There are a lot of people living in Houston who are either from Louisiana or have deep roots there,” B added.

When the host joked that “everyone” would say that Atlanta has “gross” food, Bun B clarified that he wasn’t referring to the food as gross. Instead, he was pointing out that ATL simply “invests a lot in experience.”

Rapper talks about similarities between ATL and Houston

Bun B said that in his opinion Houston and Atlanta are both known for their nightlife, calling them the “best black nightlife in America.”

“I think it has to do with Southern hospitality. If you go to a nightclub in LA, you don’t feel welcome. If you go to a New York nightclub, you go to one. But in the South, we want everyone to come in and have fun. I think the numbers are more accurate. Of course, nightlife prices are inflated, but not as inflated as in New York, Vegas, Miami or LA.

He added that Atlanta and Houston have a comparable “quality of life” and “fairly similar” cost of living. According to Nerd Wallet, the cost of living in Houston is about three percent lower than the Georgia city.
