Both GHS and Hawthorne travel west to the state capital, with the Hornets facing perennial playoff contender Florida High and the Hurricanes — in their first 2-0 start in a decade — dueling with Leon.
Newberry and Santa Fe are both venturing shorter distances: the Raiders to Union County and the Panthers to Vanguard, two teams that had impressive postseason runs in 2023.
Of course, the rivalry between the two cities of Buchholz and Eastside returns at Citizens Field, with the “Cats” trying to continue their ten-year winning streak.
In addition, schools like Williston and Bradford will face teams from higher classes – the Red Devils in Land ‘O Lakes and the Tornadoes host South Sumter.
