Mattel expands its range with two new inclusive dolls
Barbie has added two new dolls to its inclusive Fashionistas line in 2024: a blind doll and the first black Barbie with Down syndrome.
If you’re looking for a free sweet treat this weekend, Krispy Kreme might be the place for you.
The doughnut chain introduced a new collection of Barbie-themed doughnuts earlier this week to celebrate Barbie doll’s 65th birthday, and the company is also giving away free doughnuts as part of the promotion.
Four brand-new doughnuts with “unique designs and fabulous flavors inspired by Barbie” are available for a limited time at participating stores.
All customers wearing pink who visit a participating Krispy Kreme store on Saturday, September 7 can receive a free Original Glazed Doughnut, limited to one per customer in the store and drive-thru, according to a Krispy Kreme press release.
What flavors are available in the Barbie x Krispy Kreme Collection?
The collection, called Barbie x Krispy Kreme Collection, comes in a limited edition box and contains:
- Barbie Pink Donut: An original glazed donut, covered in pink buttercream, sprinkled with glittery pink sugar and garnished with Barbie sunglasses.
- Malibu Dream Party Donut: An unglazed donut filled with Cake Batter Kreme, dipped in Malibu blue glaze and glittery graham sand, topped with a Barbie DreamHouse piece and decorated with a white cloud.
- Barbie Berries ‘n Kreme Donut: An unglazed donut filled with strawberry cream, dipped in white glaze, drizzled with purple and pink buttercream and garnished with a Barbie heart.
- Sweet 65th Donut from Barbie: An original glazed donut dipped in chocolate glaze and garnished with Barbie Sweet 6th sprinkles.
“Barbie and Krispy Kreme are two brands that spark instant joy and evoke fond memories,” said Meredith Norrie, vice president of global licensing and consumer products at Mattel, in the press release. “Krispy Kreme is the perfect partner for us and invites fans of all generations to enjoy the perfect blend of taste and style, with a nod to Barbie in every bite.”
The collaboration also includes limited edition Barbie Fashionista dolls
In addition to the doughnuts, Krispy Kreme has “special treats for randomly selected fans,” including a limited number of Barbie Fashionista dolls, the press release said.
The dolls include custom Krispy Kreme accessories, including a Krispy Kreme paper hat. Additionally, Krispy Kreme says each doll comes with a custom adult-sized Barbie x Krispy Kreme denim jacket.
To participate in the raffle for the dolls and jackets, you have two options:
- From September 4-6, any fan who comments on the “Barbie x Krispy Kreme” social contest post on Krispy Kreme’s social channels (@krispykreme on Instagram) and tags a friend will be entered into a separate sweepstakes for a chance to win.
- From September 6-8, Krispy Kreme Rewards members who purchase a dozen Barbie x Krispy Kreme at participating Krispy Kreme stores and scan their Krispy Kreme Rewards app at checkout will be automatically entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win.
