There will be a first-time winner of the US Open men’s title on Sunday when Jannik Sinner faces Taylor Fritz in the final.

Sinner defeated struggling Briton Jack Draper 7-5, 7-6(3), 6-2 to reach his second major final after winning the Australian Open earlier this year.

And in the second semi-final, Fritz beat Frances Tiafoe 4:6, 7:5, 3:6, 6:4, 6:1, becoming the first American man to reach the final in New York since Andy Roddick in 2006.

When will the men’s final take place?

The women’s final will take place on Sunday 8 September at 7pm in the UK and 2pm EST in the US.

Sky Sports has the broadcasting rights to show the US Open live from Flushing Meadows.

ESPN holds the broadcast rights to the tournament, but the men’s final will be shown on ABC.

Last year, Novak Djokovic equalled Margaret Court’s record of 24 Grand Slam titles with a brilliant performance against Daniil Medvedev. But the defending champion’s bid to win his 25th Grand Slam singles title was ended by Australian Alexei Popyrin on Saturday night.

How much is the prize money at the US Open?

The total prize pool for the US Open is $75 million (£58.3 million), 15 percent more than in 2023.

The women’s and men’s singles champions will each receive £2.8 million and the runner-up will receive £1.4 million.
