Today on Pinstripe Alley – 07.09.24

Yesterday’s win was as textbook as it gets. Luis Gil returned and threw six scoreless innings, the bullpen helped with a one-hitter, while the offense did enough thanks to Aaron Judge and Austin Wells scoring some runs. The Orioles won and stayed ahead of the AL East, but the Yankees’ main concern at this point is what lies ahead – keep racking up wins and checking the standings when they meet for the last time in a few weeks.

Before the Yanks and Cubs regroup for another matinee meeting, we have a full lineup for the morning. Nick Power starts with a September check-in on rotation depth as the major league portion is now in full form, and Jake covers the Rivalry Roundup. Sam has the next entry in the 1999 diary, Nick Sarnelli looks at the options the Yankees have for left field that don’t even include Jasson Domínguez, and Josh discusses the difficulty of converting a starter into a relief weapon in a short amount of time.

1. How confident are you in the rotation now that Luis Gil has returned in dominant form? How confident would you be if Clarke Schmidt were to return in similar form?

2. How many RBI will Aaron Judge finish his season with?
