The starting quarterback was seen jogging off the field under his own power without showing any noticeable limp.

“He currently has a lower body injury,” said coach Shane Beamer said on the game’s broadcast after the end of the first quarter. “They’re going to go in there and look at it and see what he can do. He feels like he can do it, they’re just going to go in there and look at it.”

Shortly after Beamer noticed this, Sellers actually jogged back onto the field.

“I was told that South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers will return with a right leg injury,” the sideline reporter said Molly McGrath he said. “They were stretching and working out the leg in the locker room, and we saw him jogging back to the sideline. He got his helmet right away.”

“He told his teammates, ‘I’m ready to go.’ He was stretching and warming up on the sidelines. You can tell he can’t wait to get back in the game.”

Before his injury, LaNorris Sellers had helped South Carolina to an early 7-0 lead against Kentucky.

Sellers completed three of four passes for 55 yards and scored a touchdown, as well as a five-yard run. His absence would be notable, although the Gamecocks have said for some time that they are happy with both quarterbacks.

Beamer commented on this during the show.

“We have a lot of confidence in Robby Ashford. He’s started a lot of games in this conference and I’ve said it all the time, we have two winning quarterbacks,” Beamer said. “I love Robby because Robby is a competitor. When we were trying to get a quarterback out of the portal in the offseason, there were a lot of quarterbacks that wanted to promise a starting spot here. We told them we would promise them the opportunity to compete. A lot of those guys went to other schools, not Robby Ashford. He came here because he’s a heck of a competitor. We have a lot of confidence in him.”

South Carolina will be confident about how things develop in the first frame.

At the time of this writing, South Carolina was ahead 89-51 in the total yardage battle and had won several key plays on first downs. However, both teams struggled on third downs. Overall, they had made 0 of 8 third downs at the time of this writing.

South Carolina took the lead with a pass from LaNorris Sellers. Mazeo Bennett, Jr. from 24 meters away.
