Utah quarterback Cam Rising left the Utes’ game against Baylor shortly before halftime on Saturday and walked into the locker room with a towel over his right hand.

True freshman Isaac Wilson replaced Rising at quarterback.

Utah was in Baylor territory and kept driving, but Rising was hit near the sideline and forced off the court at the end of a play with 1:47 left in the half. He ran into Baylor equipment on the sideline and appeared to be resting his hand after the play.

Wilson was substituted for the Utes’ senior quarterback, who went to the medical tent and was then escorted off the field.

Rising completed 8 of 14 passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns and also managed two runs for 21 yards before leaving the game.

Utah led 23-0 when Rising left.

Wilson finished the drive by completing one of three passes for 3 yards and also managed a run for 1 yard. The drive ended with a missed 45-yard field goal attempt by Cole Becker.

Wilson played quarterback for Utah in the second half. Rising was seen on the sideline in civilian clothes, with the middle and ring fingers of his throwing hand taped together.
