Getty Images(2)Especially when Sell sunset couldn’t get better, the Netflix show finds a way to reunite Bre Tiesi with her ex-husband, Johnny Manziel.
During the latest season of Sell sunsetwhich began streaming on Friday, September 6, 33-year-old Bre helped 31-year-old Johnny search for his future home. The house in question was a 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom property on N Fairfax Ave in Los Angeles that was listed for nearly $4 million and would net Bre around $119,250 in commission.
“My ex-husband Johnny Manziel reached out because he’s looking for a house in LA. If you know sports, you know Johnny Football. Even if you don’t, he’s definitely a household name. He was a great athlete – and still is,” Bre, who was married to the former NFL player from 2018 to 2021, said in a confessional. “So I’m going to help him find something in LA, but we’re going to make sure he lives very far away from me.
The exes got off to an interesting start when Johnny immediately told Bre she was “late” and then asked her if she was too warm in her leather ensemble.
Before Bre Tiesi had a son with Nick Cannon and joined Selling Sunset’s Oppenheim Group, she was in a relationship with Johnny Manziel. The model and the former quarterback, known as “Johnny Football,” began dating in 2016 – the same year Manziel was fired by his agent and released from the Cleveland Browns after having issues with (…).
“Yeah, I’m hot. But not in this jacket,” Bre joked. “You like my blonde? I only put it on for you because you love blonde so much. Do you think it will help my sales today?”
Johnny responded with equal humor, saying, “Thanks for the condescending tone, that’s already started the day.” He also joked that the house was in a “good location” for both him and Bre. In response, Bre asked if Johnny had had anyone new in his life since their breakup.
“This is a beautiful kitchen. Who’s going to cook? Is your new girlfriend going to cook? Because we know you don’t cook,” Bre remarked, to which Johnny replied, “I’m trying to get good at everything I couldn’t do.”
Johnny, who is currently The surreal life‘S Josie Cansecowas pleased that there was no television in the living room.
Selling Sunset is partly about the luxury real estate market in Southern California, but a lot of airtime is also devoted to the actors’ personal lives. “I like that there’s no TV here. That’s just me,” he added, before Bre asked him if he was “a fucking monk king.” Johnny took this as an opportunity to make fun of Bre’s fashion.
“You know, we should talk about those pants. You’re going to take them off and fly away,” he said. “By the way, you’ve got something between your teeth.”
Bre didn’t hesitate to mock Johnny as well, adding, “You have paint on your shirt like you’re an artist or something. And a beanie. You’re useless.”
The former couple then argued about Bre being older than Johnny – but only by six months. “You’re an old lady,” Johnny joked, to which Bre replied, “I’m not helping you get this house. I didn’t miss you.”
Before her debut on Sell sunset In 2023, Bre was married to Johnny. They called it quits in 2019, a year after the wedding, and Bre even celebrated the separation with a divorce party. Later, she continued with Nick Cannonwith whom she has a son, Legendary (2). Johnny, meanwhile, was with model Kenzie Werner before he found love with Josie.
Bre took a swipe at their time together when she said their argument over closet space was the reason they were “not married,” while Johnny mentioned there were “lots of other reasons” as well. Johnny, who previously spoke about his drug problems and mental health issues in the 2023 Netflix documentary Untold: Johnny Footballwent into detail about the problems that led to the end of his marriage.
“Life happens the way it’s supposed to happen. You’re in a position now where you got exactly what you wanted out of life. And I’m proud of you and happy for you. I’ve learned a lot about what I did wrong,” he told Bre. “I was a lost, depressed kid running around the Hollywood Hills, getting drunk every night and living in a nightclub.”
The cast of Selling Sunset on Netflix isn’t afraid to speak their minds – both on screen and in their personal lives – no matter whose feelings might be hurt. Ber pointed out that Johnny was unfaithful, to which he replied, “I still feel guilty to this day about how I treated you. The divorce – after we separated – was one of the hardest moments in my life. I cried, begged and pleaded.”
Despite the split, Johnny made it clear that he doesn’t regret breaking up with Bre. “I don’t think that’s necessarily true,” he said after Bre joked that his emotional speech made her believe he still loved and missed her.
“I’m glad to hear that he realizes what hell he put me through,” Bre explained on camera. “It tells me that at least my efforts are appreciated and not all of it was in vain. Johnny is like Peter Pan. He just never wants to grow up.”
Other memorable lines from Bre and Johnny included them arguing about their different upbringings. Then Johnny asked Bre if she still had the matching tattoo they got together. (Spoiler alert: She doesn’t.)
Johnny also sharply criticized Bre for her behavior at the beginning of the relationship.
“You haven’t really changed that much since you worked at Wet Republic. When we got engaged, we booked flights on Southwest every week to go back and forth between Vegas and Los Angeles,” he recalls. “Do you remember the first time we met? I invited you to Los Angeles and booked you a flight. When you landed at the airport, you basically texted, ‘Where the hell is my car?’ And I said, ‘What the hell are you talking about, you nutcase?’ I definitely used nice words.”
According to the athlete, his difficult start with Bre ended well because he “won” in the long run. “You lost me. That’s a loss,” she said in response.
The scene ended with Bre and Johnny arguing about car accidents from their previous relationship before he ran to her car. Johnny sped off in Bre’s expensive car to test drive it while she watched.
