Kadyn Proctor injury update: Latest on Alabama offensive lineman revealed

Alabama Football officially unveils Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium

Kadyn Proctor was a short-term withdrawal of AlabamaSeason opener against Western Kentucky. During pre-game warm-ups, the second-year player injured his shoulder, forcing him to miss the entire game. Head coach Kalen DeBoer described the left tackle as “day to day,” which gives him the chance to play on Saturday against USF.

However, it looks like the Crimson Tide will once again be without Proctor. DeBoer gave an update less than an hour before kickoff in Tuscaloosa and said Proctor will not be in uniform.

“Right now it probably looks like he’s not going to play in the game,” DeBoer said before the game on CTSN radio.

The Alabama-USF game brings back memories of last season’s game in which quarterback Jalen Milroe did not play. Nick Saban’s team escaped Tampa with a win despite being in serious danger of an upset through four quarters and a weather delay. Not many on the Crimson Tide roster had a good day.

Everyone, including Proctor, hoped to make up for what they felt went wrong in 2023. Instead, he’ll be watching from the sidelines and cheering on his teammates. Elijah Pritchett was called up to the bullpen at the last minute as left tackle against Western Kentucky, but should be better prepared for the role Saturday night.

Proctor will continue his recovery and hopefully continue to follow the schedule set by DeBoer. Alabama travels north to the Big Ten region next week for a big non-conference game against the Wisconsin Badgers.

No matter who the opponent is, it’s crucial that your left tackle is there on the road. And at a place like Camp Randall, where the fans can get loud in Madison, being at full strength is the training staff’s main goal.

First up is a game against USF. Alabama will play at 6 p.m. CT at the newly named Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium and it should be an exciting contest.
