Micah Parsons set to explode after injury report before Cowboys opener

Micah Parsons set to explode after injury report before Cowboys opener

The Dallas Cowboys haven’t started their first week yet, but they’re already making headlines. Just hours before their opener, Dak Prescott became the NFL’s highest-paid player when he agreed to a new contract.

That’s set the news machine in motion, and it’s also put Micah Parsons in the spotlight. The star linebacker is next in line to get paid after Jerry Jones took care of Prescott and CeeDee Lamb. Sunday will be a great opportunity for him to remind Jones of his value, and Parsons will be able to use that to his advantage thanks to some breaking news.

90 minutes before kickoff, each team announced its inactive players and there were no surprises for the Cowboys. That was not the case for the Browns, who will be without veteran offensive tackle Jack Conklin.

While Conklin is normally their right tackle, he was expected to start at left guard this weekend in place of Jedrick Wills. With Conklin out, the Browns are relying on James Hudson III and have only Germain Ifedi as a backup behind Hudson and Dawand Jones.

Parsons, who had 40.5 sacks in his first three NFL seasons, must be salivating at this lineup. Hudson, who is entering his fourth NFL season, allowed four sacks in 321 snaps last year, playing primarily on the right side. He earned 51.1

in pass blocking from PFF, which is an increase from the 43.7 he had in 2022.
