Colts fans can experience something new this year as there are new food options on game day

Visiting Lucas Oil Stadium on a game day means more than just the Indianapolis Colts. If that were all it was about, the majority of fans would rather stay home and watch the game on TV. At a Colts game, it’s about the overall experience. It’s about walking to the stadium with thousands of fans. It’s about hearing the musicians play drums and buckets as you walk through a tunnel. It’s about being in a crowd united for a common goal. It’s also, and perhaps more importantly for some, about the food.

Who doesn’t like grabbing a soft pretzel or nacho on the way to their seat or during halftime? Washing it all down with an alcoholic beverage or an ice-cold soft drink in a souvenir cup makes it even more fun. Stadium food may not always be the cheapest, but it’s a true comfort food classic. Lucas Oil is doing its best to keep the tradition alive by offering some new twists on some old favorites for fans to enjoy while watching the game.

WTHR highlighted some of the new options that will be available this season.

Load In Fries (Sections 105, 347, 543): Guests have the option to “invite” hot and fresh French fries with savory or sweet flavor combinations.

The Wrestler (Sections 105, 347, 543, East and West Loge Club Grills): 12-inch corn dog, lightly coated in honey and rolled in blue taki crumbs (Go Blue!)

Endzone Mac (portable carts in sections 121, 520): Homemade Mac and Cheese with pulled pork, garnished with jalapeños, scallions, bacon bits and a choice of BBQ sauce, buffalo sauce or ranch

The Corn Dog with Blue Taki Crumbs sounds amazing and is something I’m definitely looking forward to trying this year. Also, the Loaded Fries have a lot of options from Korean BBQ, Buffalo Chicken to S’mores which are made with chocolate covered sweet potato fries, marshmallows and graham crackers. In addition to the usual favorites, these sound like some really good additions to the stadium menu.

It’s always a good idea to get some food at the stadium. The biggest problem I have is that I see the food but have no idea where the person got it. Walking around the stadium looking for that awesome new treat can be difficult. Luckily, WTHR has done a great job explaining where to find these things as well. This will save you time and allow you to get what you really want instead of potentially having to settle for something. Regardless of what you find, it’s all good at Lucas Oil. Enjoy the games and bon appetit.
