The Repair Shop star makes an emotional paternity declaration after giving birth to his daughter

The Repair Shop star makes an emotional paternity declaration after giving birth to his daughter

Will Kirk from The Repair Shop has given a rare insight into his private life. Despite being a public figure, the 39-year-old prefers to keep his private life out of the spotlight.

Kirk is married to Polly Snowdon and the couple, who tied the knot in 2021, welcomed their first child, a daughter, in July 2022. However, they have chosen to keep their name and face out of the public eye.

The craftsman appeared on Lorraine Kelly’s popular ITV breakfast show on Wednesday morning to talk about his latest book, Restore: The Art of Caring for the Things You Love.

The book provides an insight into wood care and restoration, covering everything from basic principles and quick fixes around the home to larger projects that will hopefully inspire fans to tackle their own restoration projects.

Lorraine began by praising the book, saying: “This is fantastic. I absolutely loved it. So it’s for beginners who have something at home that they love. It might not be worth anything, but to us it’s worth a lot,” reports the Mirror.

Will replied, “It’s basically an introduction to furniture restoration and I want to dispel the notion that we’re repair shop wizards and just show how straightforward it can be. It’s kind of a simple step-by-step book.”

Lorraine added: “It’s a great read, but also the tips in it are incredible. You really share all your knowledge with us.” She then asked: “What do you hope anyone who is interested will take away from the book?”

Will spoke candidly: “You can just do it yourself and I think it’s just about having that confidence and that’s what it’s about. There’s this element that if something is expensive or has value, it’s best to go to an expert.”

Lorraine replied: “When you were a little boy you watched your grandfather repairing furniture and thought, ‘I want to do that,’ and I think it’s wonderful.”

Additionally, Will expressed his hope that his daughter could carry on his skills, saying, “It’s in my blood and maybe my daughter will do the same. She’s almost two.”

In another context, Lorraine joked: “Good luck with that, you stubborn kids.” She added: “She will, she will look after her things because she will see you working and that is wonderful.”
