A house once owned by a Revolutionary War colonel is now for sale.

Mott and Chace Sotheby’s International Realty recently offered Fogland Farm in Tiverton for $5,950,000. Built 295 years ago, it once belonged to Colonel John Cook, who fought against the British from 1775 to 1779.

“This striking property is spread over 84 acres of gently rolling farmland, complete with three houses, two horse stables and two building lots,” the listing states. “The 1730 Georgian-style home stands proudly on a knoll, offering panoramic views of Nonquit Pond to the east.”

You can find the listing either on Zillow or on the Mott and Chace website.

According to the listing description, the property’s main house has eight bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, 425 square feet of living space, as well as a living room, four working fireplaces and a screened porch.

“Two additional 1900’s homes complement the main house: a cozy 1 bedroom/1 bath Cape home and a quaint 2 bedroom/1 bath ranch home,” it said.

The ad also states that the property is ideal for riders and equestrians, as it features a 1,110 square meter horse stable with an ice rink and high ceilings for practicing show jumping, as well as 15 stalls.

The property also includes a heated tack room and a 260 square meter barn with a hip roof and seven horse stables.

This historic home is located at 958 Puncatest Neck Road in Tiverton.

Fogland Farm is not to be confused with Fogland Ferry Farm, a family-run farm that sells flowers and vegetables.
