A look into the new terminal at Cape Regional Airport

A look into the new terminal at Cape Regional Airport

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Missouri (KFVS) – KFVS got a first look inside the new terminal at Cape Regional Airport as crews put the finishing touches on a project they have been working on for over a year.

The terminal’s doors are scheduled to open to the public on August 22.

“We have worked really, really hard to have all the amenities our community wants when flying here. The facility also offers room for growth as we work to expand our services,” Amos said.

Amos highlighted some of these new amenities.

“More toilets was a big plus because in the old terminal we didn’t have toilets behind security, but in this terminal we do,” said Amos.

The terminal is also equipped with privacy rooms for nursing mothers, a sensory room, a special area for service animals and even a storm shelter in the building.

Amos said everyone is working hard to complete the final transition from the old terminal to the new one.

“All hands on deck. We’re all working together, helping each other and getting things done,” Amos said.

Amos said she can’t wait for all the work to pay off next week.

“It’s nice to see something you imagine on paper come to life. So we’re just thrilled to be able to offer our community a facility, a state-of-the-art facility,” Amos added.

While passengers will not be able to use the new terminal until August 22, the airport advisory board has scheduled the ceremonial opening with a ribbon cutting for October 1.
