Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Tom Hardy team up for crime thriller

Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Tom Hardy have teamed up for a new crime thriller.

The stars appear in Blood on snowwhich is based on the novel by Jo Nesbø and adapted by the author himself, according to Deadline.

Led by No time to dieThe story is directed by Cary Fukunaga and is about a hitman who suddenly becomes the target of his boss and in the middle of a gang war after receiving an assignment that goes against his morals.

“Hoffman’s trusted assassin Olav (Taylor-Johnson) is a cold-blooded, efficient killer and perfect for the job,” the synopsis states.

“But beneath his ruthless facade lies an unexpected intelligence and an unshakable moral code shaped by a complicated childhood… When Hoffman orders the murder of his own wife, Olav’s principles conflict with his loyalty.

“Instead of pulling the trigger, he hatches a plan that makes him Hoffman’s next target. With nowhere safe to go, Olav forms an uneasy alliance that puts him at the center of Oslo’s deadly gang war.

“Olav was once a violent enforcer, but his decision makes him an unlikely hero in a world where no good deed goes unpunished.”

Blood on snow was previously intended for an adaptation with Leonardo DiCaprio, but this never came to fruition.

Hardy was last seen in The Bikers alongside Austin Butler, while Taylor-Johnson recently appeared in A Colt for all occasions and will soon appear in Kraven the Hunter.

Earlier this year, the latter was at the centre of speculation that he could be the next James Bond, and in the wake of these reports, he awkwardly dodged a question about the rumours.

Blood on snow Filming will begin later this year, with a theatrical release date not yet set.
