Affinity programs: Version 2.5.5 with bug fixes released

Serif Labs has today released maintenance updates for the Affinity product range. Affinity Photo 2.5.5 (image editing), Affinity Designer 2.5.5 (illustration and design) and Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 (page layout) fix some crashes and other issues in various areas of the application. Translations have also been updated.

A selection of the bug fixes made: Inserting Word documents with hyperlinks in footnotes and endnotes causes Publisher to crash. Tags panel is not saved as part of a Studio preset. Metadata could not be embedded when exporting to JPEG/TIFF/PSD. The application may crash in the Publisher export dialog if the preview image is set to 100% and the range is set to All Pages/Sheets.

The Section Manager does not always reflect the content of the currently displayed document. Fill colors and line weights are no longer updated in real time in the Text Style Editor. The application’s default language can cause the help file to always be set to English. Adding a custom tool shortcut creates duplicate entries after restarting the application.

The updates for all supported platforms (macOS, iPadOS, Windows) are available for download via the integrated update function of the three applications or via Apple’s App Store for macOS (from Catalina 10.15) and iPadOS (from system version 15).

The beta test of version 2.6 is due to start soon. Details about the new features and improvements are not yet known.
