CULLMAN, Alabama. – Alabama Farm Credit presents the ninth annual North Alabama Agriplex Harvest to Home dinner and auctions on Thursday, Sept. 12, at 5 p.m. at the Dr. William F. Peinhardt Conference Center at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for guests to peruse the silent auction. The event supports the Agriplex’s educational programs. Catering by Chef Aaron Nichols and Wallace State Culinary Pride features fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including a selection of local beef with local shrimp from D&Y Farms. Vegetables and fruits are sourced directly from local farmers throughout North Alabama.

Musicians from the Wallace State Jazz Band will provide entertainment. Ellie Watson, director of Sweet Grown Alabama, will emcee the event and highlight the abundance of Alabama agriculture. Due to popular demand, professional auctioneer Kent Stanford will host the live auction. Fifteen high-quality items will be offered during this interactive portion of the evening. Stefani Nelson of ALFA Insurance will sponsor the photo booth, so be sure to gather with friends to take a souvenir photo of the evening!

Tickets are on sale now for $50 per person or $500 for a corporate table for eight. Tickets can be purchased at the North Alabama Agriplex, 1714 Talley Ho St., Cullman, or at www.agriplex.org. Alabama Farm Credit is the event sponsor, Traditions Bank sponsors the entertainment, and Wallace State Community College provides the venue. Alabama Web Press is the event’s print sponsor. Local food is purchased through co-sponsors First South Farm Credit and Sweet Grown Alabama.

Nichols and the Wallace State Culinary and Hospitality Management Program offer a delicious local dining experience. The first course is crisp and flavorful watermelon gazpacho paired with crunchy sourdough, basil oil and feta. The second course is beef specialties from local farmers with Cullman shrimp served on a bed of blue corn grits and yellow squash frita. Dessert completes the meal with a peach creme brulee and biscotti flavored with ginger cookies and white chocolate.

The evening will kick off with a unique silent auction featuring locally made items from cakes to woodwork and garden, farm and outdoor themed baskets. All proceeds from the dinner and auction will benefit the North Alabama Agriplex and its programs throughout North Alabama. Ticket sales are limited to 168 people.
