LOWER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum will host AirFest 2024, a four-day event August 29-September 1 featuring a display of historic aircraft and military flyovers at the Cape May Airport.

The event runs daily from 10am to 4pm and offers a range of activities for families, aviation enthusiasts and history buffs.

This year’s AirFest will feature several notable aircraft, including the Supermarine Spitfire MK IXE, the P-51D Mustang “Double Trouble Two”, the SNJ Advanced Trainer and the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation’s C-54 “Spirit of Freedom”. These aircraft, many of which played a crucial role in World War II, will be on display, offering visitors the opportunity to experience a piece of aviation history.

On August 30, the 177th Fighter Wing will conduct a flyover with four F-16 fighter jets. The following day, the Aero Club of Pennsylvania and local branches of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) will participate in a flyover of historic aircraft. Other activities during the event include the opportunity to meet pilots and crew members from various military branches, as well as helicopter tours and demonstrations by the New Jersey State Police and other agencies.

AirFest 2024 will also feature live performances, food trucks, and a variety of vendors and exhibitors. Admission to the event is $18 for adults and $14 for children ages 3 to 12. Museum members, children under 3, and active military personnel are admitted free. Proceeds from the event will benefit the restoration of Hangar #1, the museum’s main exhibition space.

  • Car crashes into Schuylkill River – driver and passengers nowhere to be found

    PHILADELPHIA, PA – Philadelphia was the scene of a strange and disturbing incident early this morning.

    At 3:43 a.m., emergency crews were called to 1273 Kelly Drive in the 22nd Precinct after receiving reports that a black four-door sedan had driven directly into the Schuylkill River.

    Police and fire department reacted immediately and were able to locate the submerged vehicle, but there was an eerie twist: neither the driver nor the passengers were found at the scene of the accident.

    Authorities are puzzled as they continue to investigate what happened and where the car’s occupants might be.

  • Teenager reported missing in Brooklyn

    BROOKLYN, NY – The New York Police Department is asking the public for help in locating a 15-year-old girl who was reported missing in Brooklyn.

    Brenda Olivres, who resides on 24th Street in the 60th Precinct, was last seen leaving her apartment at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Olivres is described as Hispanic, approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. She has light skin tone.

    At the time of her disappearance, Olivres was wearing a tan tank top, purple sweatpants and black Crocs.

    Anyone with information on Brenda Olivres’ whereabouts is asked to contact the NYPD.
