Airport staff warn against tying straps to luggage

Baggage handlers have warned about a classic trick in which travelers tie straps to their luggage to make it easier to identify.

Delayed flights and lost luggage are among the fears of holidaymakers, and many try to simplify the process at the airport with their own personal travel tips.

One of them is to tie a strap to a suitcase to avoid taking another identical suitcase with you at the baggage carousel.

But now a baggage handler at Dublin Airport strongly advised against doing so, as this could lead to further problems when scanning the baggage.

“You are only entitled to compensation for problems with your hand luggage if the airline is responsible,” they added.
