Alderson hosts “The Writers Station – A Writer’s Open Mic” – Real WV

PRESS RELEASE:

Cheryl Mansley and Reni Fulton have teamed up to bring a monthly Writer’s Open Mic to Alderson, WV. The first one will be Saturday, September 28th from 6-8pm at the Train Depot, 1 Railroad Avenue in Alderson.

Authors of original poetry, prose, short stories, memoirs and essays can register upon arrival to read and share their work. The open mic is free and open to the public. Those who don’t write but appreciate the creativity of others are welcome to come and have fun.

Reni Fulton has been a writer all her life. She has received awards for her poetry and memoirs and has been published in Sage Women magazine, The Onion Review, and other publications. She recently served as a judge in the Pennsylvania Poetry Society’s annual contest and is a member of the West Virginia Writers.

Cheryl Mansley is a long-time event producer, artist, and educator. She has served as a teaching artist for Carnegie Hall and the Greenbrier Valley Theater in Lewisburg, West Virginia, and performs in the duo Little Maggie with singer-songwriter Mary Dailey. She is a member of Alderson Main Street and enjoys bringing people together to create community.

Writers Station is sponsored by Alderson Main Street and produced by Cheryl Mansley and Reni Fulton. It is typically held on April 4.th Saturday of each month, except in December when there is no open mic.
