The real-life couple, who tied the knot in 2017 after five years of dating, have worked together on several projects in the past, including “Somebody I Used to Know,” “The Disaster Artist,” “The Rental” and “The Little Hours.”

Franco (brother of James from Spider-Man) directed his wife in The Rental and told the above-mentioned publication of his experience: “She is a unique actress in her ability to balance heavy drama with moments of lightness.”

“And it was so comforting for me to have her there throughout the entire process. As a first-time director, there were moments when I was lost in thought and started to doubt myself. Having her there to build me up when I needed it and remind me that we were doing good work was invaluable.”

Brie herself further revealed that Franco willingly attended marketing meetings during the development of “The Rental.”

“I find that admirable,” she said. “I love acting and throwing myself into a role on set is one thing. Those other things I would consider to be outside of my control.”

“I think Dave has a very perfectionist personality. I’ve worked with actors who like to address problems on set without suggesting solutions. Dave is the opposite.”
