Amelia Earhart’s Landing Pad is for sale, a new dining experience on Billionaire’s Row and more real estate news

Just south of Mulholland Drive and the Dixie Canyon Park nature reserve, this Beverly Hills post office is beautifully secluded. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom home is designed to take full advantage of the views of Beverly Hills from its perch. Almost every room opens directly onto the deck that runs the length of the house and offers views of Los Angeles beyond the 90210.

Sliding glass doors connect the combined kitchen and living area and the adjacent office to the terrace. Both bedrooms are connected to the living area via normal sliding doors. A tank pool on the terrace offers the relief of a jump And the joy of a city view. Mature trees surround the area, with a few even sprouting in the middle of the patio. A glass-enclosed garage is ideal for car lovers, allowing you to admire your wheels even while lounging on the patio. Although the original building was built in 1949, the 220-square-foot home appears to have been extensively renovated, with recessed lighting and wood paneling that appears to be in tip-top condition.

Listing by Sam Plouchart and Tom Wrigglesworth of Sotheby’s International Realty Beverly Hills Brokerage.

A Virginia building complex with a place in aviation history is for sale for $39.9 million

Before her mysterious disappearance in 1939, legendary pilot Amelia Earhart seemed to be constantly in the air, flying over much of North America and also taking part in air races. According to the Robb Report, Earhart landed her Pitcairn PCA-2 autogyro at this newly protected property in McLean, Virginia, during a flight in the 1930s.

The nearly 100-year-old main house on the property, known as Ballantrae Farm, was still quite young at the time of Earhart’s visit. It is a massive stone mansion built by contractor Frank Lyons in 1925 from local fieldstone. Two guest houses bring the total area of the property to 1,300 square feet, spread across 12 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and six powder rooms. The traditional interiors have been well maintained and carefully optimized, with updated bathrooms and a spacious kitchen the likes of which could not be found in the first half of the 20th century. Outside, a pool, professional clay tennis court, soccer field and sprawling gardens give a young family a range of options to enjoy on all 2.5 acres.

Piper Yerks and Pamela Yerks of Washington Fine Properties own the listing.
