According to the social media post, officers responded to the Tennessee Safari Park at Alamo after reports emerged that a guest had been “bitten by a camel.” “Upon arrival, officers were immediately surprised by suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle,” the post said.

Police arrested Halterman, 36, and 50-year-old Brian Scott Lovvorn, another person in the car, on the same charges.

Officials did not disclose what drugs were allegedly in the couple’s possession. Schedule I drugs can include opioids such as heroin, hallucinogens or psychedelics such as LSD, tranquilizers or stimulants and are classified by the Drug Enforcement Administration as “drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse.” In Tennessee, Schedule VI drugs include marijuana and THC. Marijuana for medical or recreational use is illegal in the state.

“The charges and allegations mentioned in this press release are merely allegations of criminal conduct and not evidence,” the post concluded.

TLC’s “1000-lb Sisters” follows the personal lives and weight loss journeys of Halterman, her sister Tammy Slaton and their family. Halterman has two children with her ex-husband Michael Halterman.

The series premiered in 2020 and its fifth season ended in February.
